I understand what it’s like to struggle with your Dog

Dogs have always been a huge part of my life — but I didn't become a dog trainer because I had perfectly behaved dogs.

I became a trainer because I had difficult ones.

I've had dogs that challenged me, pushed boundaries, and made everyday situations stressful. I know what it's like to feel frustrated, embarrassed, overwhelmed, or to wonder why something that seems so easy for other dog owners feels so difficult with yours.

Those dogs are actually the reason I started learning.

And more than 13 years later, they're still a big part of why I do what I do.

From Germany to Olympia

My journey as a professional dog trainer started in Germany, where I built my first dog training business and worked with dogs of different breeds, personalities, and behavioral challenges.

Over the years, I've learned that successful dog training isn't just about teaching sit, stay, and come.

It's about understanding why your dog behaves the way they do and teaching both sides of the leash how to communicate with each other.

Today, I bring that experience to Olympic K9 Campus here in Olympia.

A Different Approach to Training

I want training to feel natural and realistic — something you can actually continue at home.

I don't believe in constantly putting pressure on a dog to make them behave, and I don't want your dog to only listen because you're holding a treat.

Treats can be a useful tool, but they shouldn't have to become the foundation of your relationship.

Instead, my training focuses on:

Clear communication

Trust and relationship

Calm behavior

Consistency

Fair rules and boundaries

Understanding your individual dog

Training that works in everyday life

Sometimes the biggest changes don't come from teaching another command.

They come from teaching a dog how to slow down, think, settle, and look to their owner for guidance.

No Judgment. Just a Place to Start.

Maybe your dog pulls you down the street.

Maybe they bark at every dog they see.

Maybe having visitors over has become stressful.

Maybe your puppy is driving you a little crazy.

Or maybe you love your dog more than anything but you're starting to feel like you've tried everything.

That's okay. Come as you are, and bring the dog you have.

You don't need to be embarrassed about your dog's behavior, and I'm not here to judge what you've done before.

We'll look at what's happening, figure out what's missing, and work from there.

After more than 13 years of working with dogs, I still believe one of the most important parts of my job isn't simply training the dog.

It's helping you understand your dog well enough that eventually, you don't need me.
